Illustration done for Dilip Cherian column in Midday
The column talks about how Suresh Kalmadi is teaming up with Vijay Mallya to bring Formula One to India. I used the concept of showing these two as kids who are crazy about cars.

Indian women wear wrong sized bra!

This page was about women's ignorance about bra-size.
According to a study, 9 out of 10 Indian women wear wrong size bra!
I couldn't find a proper picture which is aesthetic too
(And had to keep in mind Mumbai's moral police too!), so went for a stylised illustration.

Shiv Sena was in dilemma regarding their support to UPA's presidential candidate Pratibha Patil. While some sections of the party refuse to accept her as 'PURE' Maharashtrian, the larger section views this as a chance to re-iterate Shiv Sena's Marathi Manoos belief. So, Finally they decided to back Pratibha Patil. But this move by the party heads stumped Shiv Sena's senior leader Manohar Joshi, who has been nurturing the dream of Vice-President's chair. Midday, page1, 7th June '07

This is Midday' page1 lead(7th June '07)
The story is about a crack in Mumbai airport's runway.
I liked this graphic just because of the concept, which is very simple but effective.
The background is downloaded from google earth as I couldn't find a right angle of runway in Midday stock pics. And band aid strip is taken from shutterstock. And the plane had to be nameless as per our publication policy.

I found it an interesing effort. The bonus is our editor also liked it!

sunday midday cover on looting banks, cellular companies!

The cover I had done for Sunday Midday.
The story was about, how mobile service providers and banks overcharge customers in their monthly bill and loot shamelessly.
Most of us don't bother to check our bills. But the ones who did, didn't take this injustice lying down. They took the companies to court and made them apologise and refund the money!
Probably it's not just enough to be educated, but awareness is very crucial!
